Short answer
Human-in-the-loop means a person checks or approves an AI system's work at the points that matter. For AI agents, that usually means the agent works on its own for safe steps like reading and drafting, and stops for your approval before steps that change something, such as sending, paying, deleting or publishing.
Common checkpoints
- Before an action outside the app: sending an email, creating an invoice, changing DNS.
- Before deleting or overwriting anything.
- Before saving something learned from an outside source into long-term memory.
- At the end: reviewing the result before it is marked done.
In BusyBee.Day
Bots show an approval card with exactly what they want to do, and wait. Results of tasks wait for your review. You can set each connected action to run on its own, ask first or be off.
Questions and answers
Does human-in-the-loop slow the agent down?
Only at the checkpoints. The agent does the rest on its own, so you spend seconds approving instead of minutes doing.
