Short answer
AI credits are a unit that AI tools use to charge for usage that costs them money, such as model tokens, web searches or computer time. A plan includes a number of credits a month and you can buy more. Credits are not comparable between tools, because each tool decides what one credit is worth.
Questions to ask about any credit system
- What is one credit worth in money?
- Do unused credits carry over or expire?
- Does a stronger model use more credits for the same task?
- What happens when credits run out: does work stop, or does it bill extra?
In BusyBee.Day
One credit is about one US cent of real model, search and computer cost. Monthly credits come with the plan and renew on the 1st. Extra packs of 1,000 credits cost $19 and last 12 months. When credits run out, bots stop; there are no surprise charges.
Questions and answers
Why do different tools give such different credit numbers?
Because each defines its own credit. Compare what a typical task costs, not the number of credits.
