Respuesta rápida

¿Qué es focus time protection?

Focus time is a protected block of uninterrupted, no-meeting time on your calendar. It is the practice of scheduling deep work the same way you schedule meetings - as a non-negotiable commitment. BusyBee.Day automates the scheduling and the protection.

Cómo funciona

How to schedule focus time in BusyBee.Day

Set a weekly goal, configure preferences, and let the system auto-schedule.

  1. 1

    Open Focus Time settings

Navigate to /app/focus-time to configure your weekly hours goal and preferences.

  2. 2

    Set the weekly goal

Choose how many hours of focus time per week (e.g., 12, 18, 24). 18 hours is a healthy default for most knowledge workers.

  3. 3

    Configure block sizes

Pick minimum and maximum block duration (e.g., 60-120 minutes). Avoid sub-30-minute blocks - they rarely produce deep work.

  4. 4

    Pick preferred times

Morning, afternoon, evening, or specific HH:MM. Choose ideal days. The system respects all of these when finding slots.

  5. 5

    Let auto-schedule run

BusyBee.Day places focus blocks weekly. Push them to Google Calendar so meetings are blocked from being booked over them.

Engineers protecting morning deep-work

Goal: 18 hrs/week. Preferred: mornings 8-11. Protected from PMs trying to schedule standups before 11am.

Designers in async-heavy teams

Maximum 90-minute blocks across afternoons. Block creative work without interrupting Slack response time.

Founders in meeting-heavy weeks

Auto-rebalances when meeting load spikes - finds gaps between calls and protects them.

FAQ

Preguntas frecuentes

What is focus time?

Focus time is a block of protected, uninterrupted work scheduled on your calendar like a meeting. The goal is to make deep work a non-negotiable commitment so it survives meeting load.

How does focus time auto-scheduling work in BusyBee.Day?

You set a weekly hours goal and preferences (block size, preferred time of day, ideal days). BusyBee.Day scans your calendar for compatible slots, books them, and protects them from being overwritten by tasks or meetings.

Can other people see my focus time?

Yes if you push focus blocks to Google Calendar - they appear as "busy" so meetings cannot be scheduled over them. The block content can be private or labeled "Focus Time" depending on your settings.

What is a healthy weekly focus time goal?

Most knowledge workers thrive with 12-24 hours per week of focus time. Less than 8 hours often correlates with low output. More than 28 hours is rarely sustainable alongside meetings and admin work.

Can I track my focus time progress?

Yes. The analytics dashboard shows weekly focus hours achieved vs goal, trends across weeks, and a breakdown of focus time by project or label.
