Buffer time settings - pre/post buffer, lunch, and travel time. One config, every scheduler respects it.

Respuesta rápida

¿Qué es buffer time & breaks?

Buffer time is the gap kept between meetings or scheduled blocks for transition, decompression, and prep. Most calendars don't enforce it. BusyBee.Day makes buffer time a first-class scheduling primitive that every other feature respects.

Cómo funciona

How to set up buffer time in BusyBee.Day

Configure pre/post buffers, lunch, and travel time once. Every scheduler respects them.

  1. 1

    Open Buffer Time

    Navigate to /app/buffer-time.

  2. 2

    Set pre/post buffer

Enter minutes before and after each meeting (e.g., 10 before, 5 after). Apply to all meetings or per-meeting.

  3. 3

    Configure lunch

Pick start time (e.g., 12:30) and duration (e.g., 60 min). Toggle on for weekdays.

  4. 4

    Set travel time

For in-person meetings, set default travel time (e.g., 20 min). The scheduler holds those minutes.

  5. 5

    Done

AI auto-scheduling and meeting suggestions automatically respect every buffer. You don't configure them per meeting.

Casos de uso

¿Quién usa buffer time & breaks?

Back-to-back meetings → 15 min buffer

Set 15-min post-meeting buffer. Even on full meeting days, you have 15 min between every call.

Protected lunch every weekday

12:00-13:00 protected. No scheduler can place a task or meeting here.

Hybrid workers with travel

In-person meetings reserve 30 min before and after for travel. Online meetings use 5 min only.

Sales reps with high meeting load

5 min buffer keeps the day moving but ensures no truly back-to-back calls.

FAQ

Preguntas frecuentes

How does buffer time work?

You configure how many minutes of buffer you want before and after meetings. BusyBee.Day blocks those slots automatically, and every scheduling feature respects them when suggesting times or auto-scheduling tasks.

Can I set up a lunch break?

Yes. Configure a protected lunch window with a specific start time and duration. The block is respected by all scheduling features (AI, meeting time suggestions).

Does buffer time apply to recurring meetings?

Yes. Buffers apply to every meeting occurrence - recurring or one-off. You can override on a per-meeting basis.

What is travel time used for?

For in-person meetings, BusyBee.Day reserves a configurable travel time (e.g., 20 min) before and after. Useful for hybrid workers who toggle between office and home.

Will buffer time prevent meetings from being scheduled?

Yes - that's the point. If a buffer would be violated, BusyBee.Day's AI declines the slot and suggests an alternative. Manual scheduling still works but warns about violations.
